Biography

Larry G. Cooper Jr. is an attorney at the firm Cooper & Cooper, Attorneys at Law, LLC, located in Auburn and Phenix City, Alabama. He represents clients with matters including criminal defense, family and civil law, personal injury, and bankruptcy. He was born and raised in Auburn, which is located in Lee County, Alabama. In 1987, he got a Bachelor of Arts in Pre-Law Criminal Justice from Auburn University. He was a member of the 1983 SEC champion and 1984 Sugar Bowl victorious Auburn University football team from 1981 to 1984.

While working full-time as an officer for nearly three years, Mr. Cooper pursued law school at Thomas Goode Jones. He graduated in August 1993 and has been practicing law in the Auburn area since April 1994. He joined Sigma Delta while studying law at Jones School of Law. He was voted vice president of the law fraternity in his second year of law school, and then president of the SDK law fraternity in his third year.

And in his last year of law school, Mr. Cooper was elected Chief Justice of the Schools Honor Court, where he presided over student disciplinary hearings and other matters of school-related importance. One year after he graduated from law school, the state of Alabama hired him to work as a law clerk for former Circuit Judge John Davis in Montgomery County Family/Circuit Court, where he did writing and research for Judge Davis and was a special master chosen in pendente lite divorce proceedings.

Mr. Cooper first worked as a solo general practitioner, concentrating on criminal and family law. Cooper & Cooper, Attorneys at legal, LLC was the name given to Larry's legal firm after his brother Andrew Cooper joined him in practice in 2007. Though he serves clients in every county in Alabama, his main areas of concentration are in the state's centralized and eastern regions.
